ENJOY THE VIEW

We are almost finished with 2020 and have jumped so many hurdles already, but God wants us to take another leap this leap year; He is not done with us yet.

For many of us, this year has been filled with surprises; a lot of bumps and turns, a lot of sadness and bad news, some happy news and for some, this year is merely a scary roller coaster ride that just won't stop! It starts off as one that is fun at first but this is now the 50th dive and we are now in November. Nevertheless, we can still appreciate that we have gone through most of the year already. Whew! What a ride!

Mental Health

Although a crucial part of our well-being, our mental health is usually overlooked and often ridiculed, but this is nothing to be embarrassed about. It is just as important as eating healthy, exercising, getting enough rest and getting your regular check-up.

Being alone comes with many internal ups and downs. We are left to our thoughts which can either be positive or detrimental for us. Thoughts when alone can include business ideas, past memories and tasks that need to be completed, but with little to no face to face interaction, sometimes you are left to thoughts that make you feel sad and a sense of hopelessness because you can see no end whatever misery that emerges in your mind. At times, we have all been there but snapping out of it is not so easy for some. This is why it is important to take care of your mental health.

Do not be afraid to reach out to someone for help, or call the mental health centre that is in your state or community. You can also visit mentalhealth.org and get ways in which you can look after your health.

Overwhelming Fear

The news that we consume has helped to amplify fear in our hearts as we try our best to navigate through this period of semi-isolation. Wars, riots, storms, deaths and earthquakes are just a few topics that contribute to the headlines we see and hear all around us. Sometimes, it feels best to never go anywhere or even turn on any media device but we cannot live our lives in fear.

"Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand "(Isaiah 41:10)

The Almighty reassures us constantly that we should not live with fear. We are to be strong and brave, but be led by God's wisdom! (James 3:13).

Only Time Will Tell

Aha, Aha! God doesn't see us...yet so many things are being revealed; secrets are being exposed in both high and low places and there is still more to unfold.

Take a breath, close your eyes, because if you try to decipher everything that is happening around you or in this world you will have a nervous breakdown. There is a shift in the atmosphere, is there anything being revealed within your friendships, your families? Be watchful during this time and enjoy the view because everyone will get their message as God presses the reset button on the world. Afterwards, this will be an awesome story to tell!

May those who say to me, "Aha! Aha!" be appalled at their own shame. (Ps. 40:15)

WHO DO YOU PUT YOUR TRUST IN?

I have always thought about the reasons why we hold ourselves back from our purpose. Why is it we block our destiny even when we know what is ahead? This time, we look in the mirror at a fearfully and wonderfully made gift and talk ourselves out of dreams, visions and purpose.  These reasons are locked in our trust. Who do we trust? Have you ever stopped to ask yourself? Really, in whom do I put my trust. But remember.....Be Honest with yourself! The way we talk to people, treat people, the way we act, the way we think can all be lined up with who we trust and our priorities. Here are some things that trouble us, whether it is one, a few or all of these... Self Esteem I remember always comparing myself with great people which propels me to work extremely hard but this can be both a blessing and a curse.  The good side: We become better as we see our role models as a future reflection of ourselves. So we strive and grind as they did. The bad side:   We starve...

MAN A PLAN, GOD A LAUGH!!!

"OMG!!!! My day was horrible! Nothing that I planned was done. Something always came up!" Do you ever have a day like this? You are extremely upset at the way your day went or should I say THE day because you never owned it! Why does this happen? You plan to go to the store, your brother calls you to help him out with an urgent situation. You plan to go to the beach after bringing home a family member but the family member becomes ill and you need to stay a little longer. WHAT IS UP WITH THAT??? Maybe there was something that God was trying to keep you from, had you gone to your planned destination. Maybe you would have hated the experience more than these unexpected happenings which detoured your plans. Instead of quarrelling about how bad your day goes, be grateful! DARE: I dare you to welcome unexpected changes, just say: "Lord, I trust you because you alone know what's right for me and you alone can take care of me and my situation better than I can". ...
