5 WAYS TO GETTING BACK ON TRACK

Today, you may not be feeling like your usual self. You may be down thinking there is no possible way to get back up again. As a result, we continue to feed our disappointments with constant feelings of doubt and hopelessness.

Why do we do the things we do? We hope for the best BUT we expect the worst. We start off a task with a Plan A (the ultimate desire of our hearts) BUT, we still have a Plan B "just in case things do not work out". Are we not trusting God enough to order our steps? Are we failing to recognize the fact that we are fearfully and wonderfully made?

Jeremiah 29:11&12 states..."For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
12 Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you."
As prosperity flows, happiness grows. As pain expands, FAITH demands, so leave everything in God's hands.

I thought about some tips that could help us in taking that next step forward.
1. Develop a simple routine.
Be consistent with doing things that relax you. Do not get caught up in a rat race! It is far from worth it. Palpitations are not meant to become addictive, it is a sign that you should relax.
For some people it is one of, some of or all of the following:

  • Deep breathing
  • Prayer
  • Meditation
  • Exercise
  • Walking
  • Recreation or Hanging out with friends
  • Travel, and the list goes on.
2. Show Gratitude everyday.
Whenever doubt and depression kicks in. Jim Rohn said "Learn to be happy with what you have while you pursue all that you want".
When we are grateful and express that gratitude, something positive happens and it starts within because it feels good inside. You will then be compelled to share that feeling. This is why something as simple as a 'smile' is so contagious.
3. MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS
Stop comparing yourself with others! It makes you feel worst than before you started thinking. You see celebrities and others who are in the limelight (whether it is an organisation, or your own group of friends) and think about not being 'as good as.....'. He or she is not you! So admire, look at the positives you can learn from them and be the best you.
4. Know that if your journey were perfect, that is probably not the journey you should be taking.
Show me a person who is perfect and I will tell you 'something is wrong with them'. None of us are perfect because we are NOT God. We strive to be a copy of someone else and the media feeds us with what they think is close to perfection from the 'perfect body', 'perfect car', 'perfect spouse' not realizing many of the persons who have achieved this, are unfulfilled. Don't become that!
5. Make a list of your plans and cross them out as you accomplish them.
Achieving your goals feels much better than setting unmet expectations but do not aim too low because you will not dream big. Put your main goal at the top; that ULTIMATE DREAM then put steps that lead to that dream after and start from the bottom of that list. As you achieve each goal, it inspires you to go further because you did the last one. Success!

IT'S ALL ABOUT PERSPECTIVE

In a world where image seems to be everything, we are bombarded by the perfect lives that are being lived by simple human beings. These images are positioned in front of the images that God has purposed for each of us. We listen to the noise instead of the whisper that we are great beyond measure and called by the Creator who shaped us.  A perfect example can be seen in the story of Moses. We all are familiar with this great man who was torn between two backgrounds but his purpose would have been initiated when he struck down those Egyptian soldiers in anger in order to avenge a Hebrew. Then and only then, did his isolation led him to have a direct encounter with God!  One perspective: He has an anger issue. Another perspective: The passion of this man, God said "I can use him!" Let us now reflect. We see ourselves as simple human beings, without thinking, these little so-called nuances I have can be the very reason God uses me for something great. Whether, in my home, ...
